Cotton Top: Crop, Chop, Walk

Titus, the Cotton Top.

This is what he has been dubbed here in Bama. I actually like it! For his hair is white and flaxen. It is better represented with "cotton top" than "toe head," I do believe.

  • The Cotton Top gets a crop.

The summer heat and humidity was getting to this Cotton Top. Very sweaty, very sticky, and he didn't seem to enjoy all the heat trapped by his hair. Matt gave him a crop--his first hair cut! He did well at first, but then started throwing a fit!

  • The Cotton Top got chopped.

Matt and I were in the back ironing laundry when we hear a horrible scream. I run to see what was a matter, passing Eli who was swinging around a piece of board, and find Titus in fits! I conclude that his head caught a corner of Eli's board.

A regular bandage did not keep the wound sealed, so we had to switch a butterfly bandage 10 5 minutes later! Luckily Matt had the butterfly bandage in his wallet... he is an Eagle Scout, through and through.

A package of M&Ms always fixed hurts and owies.

  • The Cotton Top can walk!

That's right people, Titus is taking more secure steps! Still wobbly, but able to take 5 or 6 steps with confidence. Hooray for confidence! And standing people, he stands for seconds at a time. I didn't think he'd come around to balance... he gets too excited and falls on his bum.

We'll try to get some pictures of his walking adventure.

Those boys are adorable! With so much macho going on in the house both you and I will probably have to keep a lot of butterfly bandages handy!!!!
