Rush of School Starting

Do you ever feel like August is just a made rush to get a million things done?  Goodness, that's the way it was this year.

And not only that, but it was SO HOT on top of it all.  Like 100 degrees with 90% humidity making the heat index over 120.  Miserable, I tell ya.  Nothing worse than living in the swamp/marsh in the midst of a heat wave!

Our first order of business was getting some much needed dental work done.  Titus and Isaac have really intense mashed up teeth.  As such, they get these weird cavities.  (Eli has lots of room between his teeth and has no cavities--thank goodness he finally gets a break in the health department.)

Titus' dental appointment was the first day of school, so he only attended a half day of preschool .  He did well, was kind of goofy on the laughing gas, but was pretty chill.
Isaac's dental appointment was the second week of school, he missed the whole day of school.  He was did well, but was under the laughing gas and dental work for an hour, so he got motion sickness really bad and threw-up when we got home.

Isaac also started piano the first week of school.  He was really excited about it!  Good for him!  His teacher is a good 15 minute drive from our home, so me and the little boys try and find a park to play during Isaac's 45 minute piano lesson.  So far it's been going well… EXCEPT it was really hot for a few lessons in a row.  Eli and Titus were pretty miserable.  But it's cooled down a tad.

Isaac has really enjoyed piano.  It's none too hard to get him to practice, and he really excited that he's almost memorized a few songs.  When Matt plays with Isaac at the piano they can be there up to an hour.  Eli and Titus are excited about Isaac playing too, and they're anxiously awaiting when their going to start lessons!

Oh.  And THEN I had to get the Honda Pilot's air conditioning fixed.  Man, that was so awful having that broken.  So happy to have cool air in the car!!
So our first two weeks of school were kind of hectic.  But we were still able to play at the pool, Matt and I were able to go one a "day date" while the boys were at school, Titus bashed his forehead, and Eli took school pictures as a hot mess.

End of the School Year (Which was in May)

It all happened really fast, but that's okay.  Lots of little parties and graduations.

First there was Matt going out of town.  He attend his Grandmother's funeral in Canada, and me and the boys hung out for the weekend--finishing up some baseball practices, playing on play grounds, and attending a birthday party with an AWESOME water slide (that almost killed my kids, haha).

When Matt returned home the boys loved hanging all over him.  I think they love their dad!

Titus' preschool ended with a party at the local bounce house.  We started the school year with 4 kids, and ended with 3.  It was fun to do the "Friend's Preschool" between me and 2 other moms.   But Titus is so very excited to go to the big preschool this fall.   He's ready to be a "big boy," like his brothers… But I'd like him to stay little :)

Eli finished up the school year at the local Montessori school.  He was enrolled from January thru May.  He really learned a lot, and really loved it.  In the beginning it was crazy hard to let him go from 8am to 2:30pm everyday of the week, but he basically had lunch then a nap from noon till the end of the school day--not too bad.
He's also super excited about entering Kindergarten in the fall.

He had a HUGE graduation celebration.  I really didn't know it was going to be such a big deal, but luckily we had dressed him up a bit before hand.   And, oh my goodness, the program that he participated in was so cute!  Like 2 or 3 songs, with motions and acting out.  Eli rocked it!

Isaac had a lot of activities at the end of the year.  There was "Economics Day," were they got to "spend money" that they earned during the Spring.   He had so much fun!  Loved getting special treats and getting his hair and nails done.

Then the end of the year party for his First Grade class.  Me and Isaac put together some goodies bags and made lots of treats.  (I'm done being the "room mom."  YAYAYAYAYAY!!)
Isaac and his class performed 3 different skits, and Isaac was Papa Bear in the 3 bears and Goldie Locks.  He did so well.  Said all his line loudly, and kept the other bears in line.

Isaac had to say goodbye to his closest friend.  For that's what happens in military communities… people move!  Boo!  But we'll do that in 2ish years… so…  You know…
Isaac had two great teachers, and really helped him this year.  He's excited to go to 2nd grade in the fall, and go to a different building.  Wow!
(Isaac celebrated his last day of school by swimming in the deep end by himself for the first time ever!)

Just Me and Titus (+Friend)

Now that Eli is in full-time preschool (and has been since the beginning of January), it's just me and Titus.

And he loves to be spoiled and spoiled and spoiled...

Like shopping for days:

Wearing whatever he wants without his brothers bothering him:

Enjoying story-time, toys, etc., all to himself:

Not to mention all the gadgets are his.  HIS!  HIS! :
5 vultures watched him dig holes.  It was weird.

But then the fairy tail ends, and the brothers come home (actually he's pretty ready for them to be home by 3pm):

Eli and his food.  It's legit.
Isaac and his LEGOs.

And for a few days, it all changed.  Me and Titus looked after a little Miss for a few days while her mama was busy with a new baby.
At first Titus wasn't so sure, but then when we no longer had this 18month old around and she went back to her mom, he was really upset.  For, "She's our baby!  She's our girl!"  This happens to be a complete 180.   He LOVES being the baby, and never wants to have another kid in the family again, haha.

(PS, she fit in the family of all boys perfectly.  Managed their crazy like a champ!  Even enjoyed a few of their baseball games.)
