February, Waiting for the Big March

Get that?  "Big March" a play on the word for "military marching," and the month "March."
Get it?  Get it?  Get it?
Anyway... :)

Matt's date for deployment has been shifting all around and upside down.  Finally we have a date, and he'll be leaving before March is up.   But life continues on for our crew, and February has been pretty fun!

Minus the "Eli sickness" episode, which gave us a little worried moment:
He ran a fever on a Saturday and it wasn't until Sunday that I realized what his symptoms could mean.  Hello?!  High spiking fever, and very thirst?!  Could be Strep Throat.  So Matt stayed home with him and took him to an Urgent Care, and me and the other boys went to church.  After a long wait at the doc-in-the-box, they were able to some answers.  Not Strep Throat, but an ear infection with an inflamed throat.  He was put on meds for 5 days.
Strep Throat is pretty serious when not treated.  It can get into the blood stream and attack the heart... Not a good thing for "half-a-heart" Eli.
Also, his meds were really gross, so I had to bribe him with some soda to take it (and not jam it down his throat and drown him).  He hated it, but loved the soda!  I'm a genius, so don't judge.

Eli smacked his head on the fireplace.

Handsome boy Isaac.

One of those really healthy and amazing Roman Noodle meals.

Got the Wii fixed!

Titus has a huge obsession with the tablet, which we are curbing.

Eli exhausted from ear infection sickness.  Laid himself down for a nap on the couch.  (Pink lips!!)

Where's Eli?  He's hiding and I can't find him.

What a great hiding spot, Dude!

February 2011 in Rewind

The first half of February was pretty chill. Matt has a drill weekend, Eli bashes his head open, then we have a sick weekend--which turns into a sick week and a half.

A highlight of this first half of February is our purchase of a jigsaw. LOVE POWER TOOLS!

Which made this, for these "love" bean bags (also homemade, for Valentine's Day):

The highlight in the second half of February was Chase and Jenese's Wedding!
(Our best family photo.)

The wedding was beautiful. The bride and the groom were beautiful. Even Rexburg weather, considering it is the middle of February, was nice. (We heart the Rexburg Temple so much!) Don't have any pics of the couple, but when Marcie posts them on her blog, we'll let you know.

And we stayed with Cousin Luke!
(My sister Ashley and her husband Dave's home. Miss them, love them.)

The last half of February included Caitlin's (Matt's youngest sister) Dinner Show. Amazing! A high school choir with lots of talent! This was a great night, for the boys had their first real babysitter. Like 14 years of age, and paid, and stuff. Weird. But they did great.

Also, Aunt Angie (Matt's Aunt) had her musical. WOW! I had never seen Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. And their rendition was so fun. Angie was the Narrator, which basically means she sang in every scene. She was really great, and her kiddos were so fun to watch too!

Other things of note:
  • The boys really have started to play together.
  • Titus is crawling, which stresses out his brothers. He can get into their things!
  • Isaac's speech is becoming clearer.
  • Eli walked around the house with a sticker on his manhood for a couple of minutes.
  • Shaun the Sheep is an idol in this household.
  • And...

... and we put in our 30 days notice!
No more living on the third story! So, so, happy.
