Rexburg, Rexburg. No place like Rexburg.
Matt and I have spent most of our married life here... We have learned how to be a couple and a family in this isolated community. Lots of good and just plain hard times. Well it is time to move on. Date set to move? Next thursday!
Since life is crazy over here, our only time to have a date before the move was last night. We wanted to make a "Rexburg" date. Mission: fill our evening with things truly Rexburgdian.
First stop, Bajio! Now I know there are plenty of Bajio and fresh Mexican grill places out there.. but this is the place where I first had Mexican food and liked it! I'll never forget my first time in line being asked if I wanted Mexican rice or sweet rice, refried beans or black beans. Deer in the headlights. I had no idea! What is a burrito? What is an enchilada?
Thank you Casper boys for taking me here 5 years ago, and thank you Matt for having a military discount that takes half off the price!

Next, Cajun Bob's! I must admit, wednesday night was our first time going to this place.
I was hoping to run into "crazy" Bob, but did not. Sad. But still, Cajun Bob's billiards is truly Rexburgdian.
Only takes cash, and does not really set a price... every time is different. Hmmm.

We played 4 games, and technically I won each time.
I am stripes in this game, but since Matt scratched the 8 ball right before his win, I won!
All 4 times! Honey, you do have skills... really you do.

Last we went to the cheap theater, Holiday 3, to see Invictus. Wonderful and truly inspiring.
More of a story about country than sport. And Matt really learned who Nelson Mandella is... totally in the spirit of education and the college :) Going there reminded me of a time when we had no kids and we would see two or three flicks in one night. Holiday 3, I love you.

That was our last official "Rexburg" date.
I am sure we will visit from time to time, but we are done.
And you know what? It feels good.

I am so happy for you- but I'm totally going to have a sobfest next Thursday!!!
Great idea. Thanks! I think we should do the same thing when we leave Moscow. We aren't sure where we are going to live yet, but we want to live somewhat close to downtown. Did you guys find a good place?
Sounds like a great Rexburg date. I have met Cajun Bo and his name should really be Crazy Bo...If he was there you would probably still be at Cajun Bo's. He tells stories that last ALL night. Date breaker for sure.
Way to go! What a fun idea. I'm glad you got to do all those things. Ya know, when I left Rexburg, I didn't even look in the rear-view mirror. I was soooo ready! I'm glad you enjoyed Rexburg and now you get to have a change. Good luck with your move and enjoy your new life!
Shannon I'm so excited for you guys! But I do have to admmit, after we FINALLY left Rexburg I totally missed it. Glad you guys got to have one last fun night on the town and enjoy all it's goodness. Good luck with moving and everything that comes with it!
I am glad you guys totally went out on the town... It's so funny what you think about when you leave. I miss Fong's (& I don't love Chinese food) and Craigo's for sure. I wish you guys the best in your move. What an adventure. We can't wait to hear more.
Good luck with the packing and move! Now that we haven't lived in Rexburg for awhile, I realize how much I miss it and the good times/memories you make there. Glad you guys did some fun things. It made me smile to remember Holiday 3 and Cajun Bob's.
Hey I hope that your move went okay. There is a nice satisfaction that comes with finishing your time in Rexburg. Although I do find myself getting pretty nostalgic about it now. I'll miss having our boys play outside by the sand box when it's warm. Tyler misses all of his little buddies.
