Matt had his Army National Guard AT (annual training) these past three weeks.
He lived out in the desert by Boise without showers, toilets, cell phone reception, good meals, and shelter--slept beneath the stars.
"What did they do?" You may ask.
Basically they practiced their artillery skills. (Matt is a 13-Bravo.)
The tank looking things are NOT tanks, they are the artillery guns they worked with.
Matt was also the only person in the battery to qualify on the .50 caliber machine gun (an actual gun, that is really big).
Sweet photo, eh?
Matt left the shutter open for one second to get this shot.

Yay for Matt being home! No more single parenting.
That last photo is so sad! I am glad it wasn't me at training. I guess I am a little more high maintenance than I thought.
Life is hard without daddy!!
What can we do without the men in our lives. The pictures are scary and yet Matt looks so cool in his uniform, and his countenance says that he loves what he does.
