Isaac's First Season of Basketball

It was… A little… Stressful?

It takes Isaac a little while to grasp some concepts, but when he does he's golden.  Honestly at the start of any athletic season I always wonder if I should take him to be evaluated, to see if he has some sort of learning problem with movement or something.  But then he catches on and is one of the most improved players on the team, haha.

He really likes basketball.  Struggles still on offense, but started making baskets during warm-ups half way through the season.  He's really good a defense!

He ended up missing 4 basketball games because they were on Sunday--which was all at the end of the season.  But for the tournament Isaac's team was the #2, and they were able to get to the championship game!  AND they LOST by 2 points in the last 2 minutes of the game!  Frustrating, haha.  But Isaac got a medal, so he was super happy about that.

We have a lot of photos from the season, so I'm going to post them all.  Enjoy his journey… And the little boys' fun in the bleachers!   (<

Eli drew a Picture

Eli is not one to pick up crayons and paper and make a masterpiece.  He instead prefers to spend his creative energy contemplating things and then taking them apart. Like my necklaces, or all the Lego men.  He'll fidget and tinker all day long--put a maker in his hand and he goes limp.

Fidgeting with the oranges as I sit here typing:

But on Friday he brought home a paper from preschool with some handiwork, a family portrait. And I think it's the sweetest thing!

Matt asks, "Is that one mommy and her hair?"
Eli, "No, it's just her face!"
Haha, thanks, bud!

PS, I found some orange plates for a quarter each and I just love them!  (Love orange plates, guys.  Not a joke.)
