Final Four Fosho!

Well, I had a great 5 day weekend with my parents and sisters in Indianapolis for the Final Four.  This long weekend was in honor of my dad's 50th birthday, and we had a ton of fun! The last time the family went of a vacation together was sumer of 2003. Needless to say, this was a much needed together time.

My parents really do wish that husbands could have come, but Dave (Ashley's husband) was in the middle of finals and Matt... well... when they were planning this Matt had no idea where he'd be--Marine Corps officer training, Army officer training, school, or something else.

This was my first time being away from ALL my boys (except one in tummy) at the same time. Weird. Cool and heart breaking at the same time.

Here are some of our happenings:

Bracket Town
A big event with lots of famous basketball people and entertainment

THE Papa John
talking about the half court shot he took and which is shown in commercial

Me and Two Sisters
Can you tell which one lives in a place with sun?

Hotel Wii Time
I brought our Wii and Super Mario. So fun! We got some skills.

Me and sister 6 months pregnant.
We held up well, but were swollen most of the time.

My Parents

More of the Stadium
SO BIG! Could fit half of Indy's downtown in there. Will hold the SuperBowl next year.

Duke Hater
Saw this guy and laughed. We are BIG Duke fans. Go Blue Devils!

My dad and sister Ashley went to the Semifinal games on Saturday. My sister Madison and I went to the Championship game on Monday night. But I couldn't stand the idea of my dad not going, so an hour before the game started I asked a desperate street seller how much for a ticket. He said 75, I said 50, then compromised on 60 bucks. My dad sat lots closer than we did, and we joined him down there for the second half. But the first half Madison and I sat in these seats and had this view! Crazy high!

Wow, the championship game was crazy! 80 per cent of the people were for Butler (the home team) and it was loud. And very tense. Most of the time within 5 points of each other. And that last minute was unbelievable! I felt during those 60 seconds that I was going to have a heart attack or throw up. But Duke won! By one point, and just barely. Most people wanted Butler to win, I know... But I am for the Atlantic Coast Conference all the way. You know what they say, "You can take the girl out of the ACC, but you can't take the ACC out of the girl."

I thought I had more photos, but then I realized that a lot of the pictures I thought I had are on others' cameras. AND I wasn't allowed to bring my nice Nikon DSLR into the stadium, so I had to use my camera phone... stinky. Oh, and it rained a lot that weekend, so I didn't the shots of the town of Indy that I wanted. Maybe next time, eh?

Thanks to my great husband who so willingly took care of the boys. He loves being a dad, and really understands that he is a parent not a babysitter. Me and the boys are sure lucky to have him in our lives.
