Here I Am:

Tired.

That's really the only word for it.
I'm in a strange place, one which has thrown me for a loop.  I'm just tired, and I'm surviving, and I'm not doing many things which once brought a lot of joy.

One, there is no reading going on
Two, I am not running nor exercising
Three, I'm barely creative with things (including art, cooking, decorating, graphic design)

((I'm actually pretty happy, though.))
Really all I want to do is sit and sleep.  (I LOVE SLEEP.  LOVE.)
I know once Matt is back things will get back to normal.  I know it!  I believe it!  I will live it!

I actually tried to get myself out of this funk two months ago by signing up for all these awesome and amazing courses on Coursera, and I was almost doing well in them, and then I moved.  I was so behind it was horrid, so I dropped out of all of them.  I was kind of counting on those classes to help me stay motivated till Matt gets home: have my "me" time, feel like I was moving forward in life, learn cool things.  I was so beat up and overwhelmed by moving, there was no chance to stay with them... Next time I'll just take one at a time, so I can really be focused and succeed.

Something that I am working on though is what I'm eating.  I'm starting to feel a drastic difference. (LOOK!  I'm blogging with thoughts!  Something good is changing, eh?!)   I'm at the 48 hour mark of no processed sugar, no meat, hardly any dairy, no wheat, and very simple meals.
ALL of this revolves around basically juicing my veggies and fruit and drinking it.  I'm not cutting out all real food, but the meals I have are so simple--a small portion of brown rice with an egg on top.   Or sugar snap peas and apple cider vinegar.
I don't know how long this will last, but I'm feeling great.   Honestly.  I think I'm on to something here: Possibly eating fast food fried chicken and gallons of chocolate is NOT good for me, and WILL mess with my mental state.

Anyway,  Here I am.  Tired, but trying to go forward and not swear at my children.

(30 days till Matt probably leaves Afghanistan!  Yay!)

I tried the paleo diet for a while and felt so good! (not to mention the things it did for a flatter stomach.) But then I started training for a half marathon and it was all down hill. no carbs+a lot of running=cravings and eating a whole lot of processed sugar CRAP. so just a warning... haha. Isn't it amazing what eating good, HEALTHY food will do to you!?

Hang in there man. I'm so glad Matt will be home sooner rather than later. You're amazing.

Good for you Shannon! Let me know how the eating goes. Eating healthy may just be easier to do that not swearing. I swear, heh, swear words are in my blood now.

I am sorry about the lack of motivation and tiredness. I can relate. But I must say kudos to you on your food. That sounds great. I have no motivation to do that as of yet, but love it when others do. Good luck!!
