There were three things that I really wanted Isaac to figure out before Matt left, since well, Matt's a great teacher and he and Isaac have a wonderful learning/teaching relationship.
One, tying shoes.
And he did it! Matt worked with Isaac for a few afternoons, and BAM! he got it. Thank goodness. Now he can tie his shoes when ever he pleases. Especially nice since most afternoons when I'd pick him up at least one shoe was untied. PLUS, now he is one of the kids that will help the other kids tie their shoes.
Two, learning and passing off up to level 10 of his sight words.
YES! Isaac's been working and working on his words, and getting up to level 10 is a big deal. For level 10 is the last of the Kindergarten words, and now he's going to work on 1st grade words. He got a ring pop in class and all! Technically Isaac passed it off 3 days after Matt left, but still, he did it! YES!
Three, riding a bike.
Now this one is tricky, but I think Isaac has it. After two 30 minute sessions Isaac was able to mostly get the hang of riding a bike without training wheels. And he's mostly confident. I think I'll be taking the boys out this weekend for some more experience! But glad Matt was able to give the foundation lessons, since those are those that really count!
