There and Back Again. And Again. And Again.

What an insane past few weeks!

Okay, so I had my alone visit to Georgia, leaving the boys with my mom and sister starting on July 20th.  My mom had just had kidney surgery, too.  Wow, what a sacrifice.

Then I went back to Bama on Wednesday, July 24th and stayed through Monday, July 29th--for we had to get to Georgia to get school stuff in order, etc.

Then me and the boys headed BACK to Bama on Friday, August 9th for my sister's wedding (yay!) and a few days later turned right around for Georgia on Monday, August 12th.

Each one-way trip is a minimum of 6.5 hours.  And you guys know that Atlanta traffic doesn't like to corporate, so bet your bottom dollar that it's more around 7.5 hours (on a good day).

So let me just recap the July 20th thru July 29th in this post.
I had some time to myself in the house [July 20-July24].  Awesome.  I picked up a "few" things at IKEA in Atlanta while driving through, and had to pack it all in my mom's VW Bug.   Also put a package in the mail for Matt, for his 30th birthday  (best dad trophy, BSU flag, and macncheese!).

When back in Bama there were some fun things in order [July 24-July29].  First was my sister's bridal shower.  Hats and dresses was the theme, and we lived it up!  It was at my mom's friend's home, which is set up on this hill.  Loved all the scenery!  The food was great, the decor was awesome, and the people were really lovely.  It was a pretty tame shower compared to her Rexburg one, but still just as fun and cute.  Always great to go over "how we first met" stories, etc.

I pretty much hate this picture of me.  That dress is not very photographic, apparently!  But my sisters and mom are beautiful.  Ashley (the one in the pink) is 5 months pregnant... with a baby girl!!

Then just fun cousin time the rest of the weekend [July 27 thru July 29].  Including a birthday party for 3yr old Luke, eating pizza, and outside time full of bugs and underwear.  Seriously, cicadas are sooooo loud!  Me and Eli had to cover our ears.  Though we did find a cool shell, so that's a bonus.  (Shell was found out side on the tree fort, not inside on the mantel.)

How hard is it to get a 6, 4, 3, and 3 year old to look at the camera all at once?!
I'd say impossible.

Thou art a loud bug, cicada.

Titus and his backwards undies.  Seriously, he loves it this way.

On July 29th we headed to Georgia, again!  Interstate 16 has to be the most boring 3 hour stretch of road anywhere in the world.  Just pine trees.  Nothing else.  Puts us (almost) all asleep, like every time it's driven.

Wow what a busy last month you've had.
That's crazy, but fun right?
I hope the school year brings some fun as well for your family.
Happy birthday to Matt. His 30's will be awesome.

You are such a brave mama to make all those car trips with your boys. Props to you. Glad you also got some time alone. You always deserve it!
